MATS University, School of Sciences, organized an Education cum Industrial visit to Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalay, Raipur, for the students of B.Sc. and M.Sc. Microbiology, Biotechnology, Botany, and Chemistry program.

MATS University, School of Sciences, organized an Education cum Industrial visit to Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalay, Raipur, for the students of B.Sc. and M.Sc. Microbiology, Biotechnology, Botany, and Chemistry program.

MATS University Chancellor Shri Gajraj Pagaria and Director General Priyesh Pagaria congratulated the students for this educational cum industrial visit and highlighted the importance of the industrial visit to connect academic-industrial collaboration and to achieve the targets of NEP 2020. The visit was conducted with the prior approval of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) K.P. Yadav, Registrar, Gokul Panda, and under the guidance of Dr. Ashish Saraf, Professor & Head, School of Sciences.
The program began with a visit to the Mushroom Lab, where students observed mushroom production and its spawn production. The live demonstration of mushroom spawn production, production techniques of commercially viable species of mushrooms like Oyester, paddy straw and milky mushrooms and their processed products were conducted. Students learned about his techniques and resolved their queries. In the next phase, the students, along with faculty members, moved to the R.H. Richharia Research Laboratory. Here they saw the Akti Biodiversity Museum, medium termgermplasem storage module, and Crop biofortification and functional food laboratory. Students got information about nutrient-rich rice genotypes to combat micronutrient Malnutrition. After that, they visited to DNA based seed Testing Laboratory and the Marker-assisted selection Laboratory. Student aslo gained advanced knowledge in the tissue culture lab for plant growth. Students also spent time getting information aboutBiocontrol agents production and training Lab there.
The entire program was held under the kind guidance of Dr. (Smt.) Arti Guhey, Dean College of Agriculture, Raipur.
The whole visit was well coordinated by the Professors Dr. Sandhya Rani Panda, Dr. Nitin Jaiswal, and Dr. Anushree Tiwari.
The visit offered students practical exposure to modern agricultural technologies, enhancing their understanding of agroindustrial processes and bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications.
