In MATS University, SHSS offers its curriculum in the spirit of providing a broadly based education. One reflection of that commitment is the University’s core. Another reflection of it (partly overlapping with the first) is the program in the humanities and social sciences, which every student completes along with the core and a major. The School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) occupies a unique place on campus. We are simultaneously the one campus department that does house a major and the department with which each student will likely have the most extensive contact, after his or her major department.
